Arjun Babuta Misses Olympic Medal in Heartbreaking Fashion

"I Would Pay a Fortune to Be Anywhere But Here"

Indian Shooter Finishes Fourth in Men's 10m Air Rifle Final

Indian shooter Arjun Babuta's Olympic dream ended in agonizing fashion on Monday after he missed out on a medal in the men's 10m air rifle event by the narrowest of margins. Babuta finished fourth in the final, just 0.2 points behind third-place finisher Serhiy Kulish of Ukraine.

Speaking after the competition, a visibly disappointed Babuta expressed his heartbreak and frustration. "It's the cruellest of ways to miss out," he said. "I would pay a fortune to be anywhere but here right now."

Babuta's fourth-place finish marked the first time an Indian athlete had finished in that position at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The Punjab-born athlete, who has represented the Indian shooting team since 2016, will now have to wait another four years for another chance at Olympic glory.

Despite the disappointment, Babuta's performance in Paris was a testament to his talent and dedication. He will undoubtedly remain one to watch in the world of shooting in the years to come.
