Emergency Services Day marked with Jersey photoshoot

Jersey's emergency services came together this week to mark Emergency Services Day.

The special day was celebrated with a unique photoshoot at Liberation Square in St Helier.

Representatives from the Police, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service and Jersey Coastguard joined forces for the photocall, which aimed to show the close working relationship between the emergency services and the pride they take in their work.

The day is normally marked on September 9, but due to the Queen's funeral, it was postponed until this week.

Emergency Services Day was first introduced in 2002 as a way of recognising the work of emergency services personnel and the sacrifices they make to keep our communities safe.

Chief Officer Robin Smith, Head of the States of Jersey Police, said:

"We are proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our emergency services colleagues to mark this important day."

"This photocall is a great way to show the public the strength of our partnership and the dedication of our staff."

Chief Fire Officer Paul Brown, Head of the States of Jersey Fire and Rescue Service, said:

"It was an honour to be part of this event and to represent the Fire and Rescue Service on Emergency Services Day."

"It is a time to reflect on the hard work and dedication of all our emergency services personnel, and to thank them for their unwavering commitment to keeping our communities safe."

Chief Ambulance Officer Mark Mapp, Head of the States of Jersey Ambulance Service, said:

"I am proud to represent the Ambulance Service on Emergency Services Day and to pay tribute to the hard work and dedication of our staff."

Commander John Rose, Head of the States of Jersey Coastguard, said:

"I was delighted to join my colleagues from the other emergency services to mark Emergency Services Day."
