Verstappen Claims Fifth Consecutive Pole Position at British Grand Prix
Red Bull Driver Continues Dominance at Silverstone
Red Bull's Max Verstappen has secured his fifth consecutive pole position of the 2023 Formula 1 season at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The defending world champion outpaced McLaren's Lando Norris with a late flying lap to claim the top spot on the grid for Sunday's race.
Verstappen's Silverstone Success
Verstappen's pole position at Silverstone marks his seventh of the season, extending his already impressive lead in the Drivers' Championship. The Dutch driver has been in dominant form throughout 2023, winning four of the ten races held so far.
In qualifying for the British Grand Prix, Verstappen set the fastest lap in each of the three qualifying sessions. He ultimately secured pole position with a time of 1:29.901, edging out Norris by just 0.083 seconds.
Bottas Disqualified
Valtteri Bottas, driving for Alfa Romeo, initially qualified third but was later disqualified. His car failed to provide the required 10-liter fuel sample, a violation of the FIA's technical regulations.
